Smaller fleets:

No matter what size of fleet you operate, the same logistics challenges apply when trying to optimise its performance. The best place to start is with a tracking system – once you can track a vehicle’s whereabouts and activity levels, you can start to make improvements in productivity and performance.

Our system is completely modular, allowing a client to start with a basic package and upgrade the system as requirements grow. It is a flexible, expandable and seamlessly upgradeable system, delivered as a managed service to protect clients from technical and commercial risk. Its Internet based, enabling clients to get quick and easy access to information on their fleet. It's a tried, tested and proven system that has been web delivered for several years; it is already used in thousands of vehicles throughout the U.K.

Key benefits of our Internet based solution:

  • High speed Internet access provides an efficient, low cost means of networking powerful management information
  • Multi site, multi user and remote access provides visibility to business activity and makes it easy to share information across business units and partners
  • Password protection is provided to manage and control the level of access for staff
  • Multi function access from the desktop means management information can be drawn from TMS2’s secure password protected Internet based hub
  • Back-up systems ensure data is stored remotely and archived for future use

We offer comprehensive installation, training and support and strive to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction. We continue to build on our leadership through ongoing development to ensure our system expands in functionality. We continually research and develop the latest technologies to ensure that TMS2 remains an essential tool for any business running any type of vehicle fleet.

The most powerful tracking product on the market, TMS2 i-Track is designed to provide access to the most comprehensive real-time vehicle information. It is incredibly simple to use and helps improve the efficiency of an operation by keeping on top of service levels. i-Track gives accurate information about the location and utilisation of vehicles from any web browser. With a GPS link on each vehicle, clients can find out where every vehicle is and where it’s been. Real-time information encourages pro-active management and improved performance, as well as enabling more on-time deliveries and better customer service.

i-Track is an advanced vehicle tracking and reporting solution that provides detailed reports on all of a fleet’s vehicles all of the time. The vehicles’ location, speed and direction are displayed on street-level mapping to provide live updates as well as an extensive range of detailed and summary management reports.

It is a fully scalable solution. This means we can provide additional services when needed – quickly, cost-effectively and all supplied within a single telematics unit. We work with key partners to offer industry standard solutions such as satellite navigation and stolen vehicle recovery system.

It is an expandable vehicle-monitoring system that uses the GPRS network to provide both real-time and historic views of vehicle location and activities. The software is provided via a managed hub service. In addition to monitoring the current position (via GPS) and status of vehicles, it can be expanded to monitor the status of deliveries and driver details and connected to existing IT systems so that a transport operation becomes a fully integrated part of the whole business.

It requires no software or hardware to be installed at a client’s premises – the entire application is hosted in our communications centre. This means there’s no need to pay for a dedicated PC – no backups to be maintained – no map data to be updated – no modems to replace when they fail. Its easy to access every aspect of a fleet data from anywhere with Internet access and, because the system is provided as a managed service, it can all be accomplished at a known fixed cost per month. With GPRS ‘always on’ technology, vehicles can automatically send data on their position and status back to the central hub at any predetermined interval. This means there is no need to manually download log information from the vehicle – the latest information data is always available for immediate review.

Choose to see a single vehicle, a group of vehicles, or a whole fleet on a map at one time and zoom down to street level if needed. The system also sends immediate alerts to any exceptional events. Built in geo-fence functionality and alarms can warn via email, or an SMS message to a phone, about a late departure, a vehicle theft or a driver pressing a panic button.

Whether needed every day or once a month, the management reporting system is always available on-line and can provide a full suite of reports going back for up to 3 months. As transport management requirements change, it can adapt and expand – its easy to add simple driver messaging via an in-cab screen, or attach a sophisticated Hand Held Terminal to provide a true mobile application and provide the real time link back to central systems.

Clear and flexible reporting helps clients analyse vehicle behaviour. When using mileage pricing, clients can calculate how much each vehicle costs in a fleet. By comparing the actual fuel costs with the predicted fuel costs, it becomes easy to see where any inefficiency resides. TMS2 provides the ability to check if planned routes are being adhered to and drivers are starting and finishing at the correct times. Lengths of visits to customers can be monitored too. Unauthorised use of vehicles will be a thing of the past – fleet managers will now know exactly where they went, how long they were there and which route they used to get there.

The TMS2 system offers reports that are easy to use and provide essential management information to help monitor fleet activity and performance. The reports provide a wealth of information to help run a fleet more efficiently, making the TMS2 system much more than a simple vehicle location system. Reports can be scheduled to run on a regular basis, saving even more time. The reports can then automatically be sent to the printer, saved as a file or emailed to the relevant people.

Report categories include activity, actual hours worked, distance travelled (by vehicle or driver), exceptions, journey and service information. Vehicle activity reports show the vehicle and/or trailer activity over a given time scale including time travelling, time idling and standing time distance and cost, distance travelled, daily operating costs and a summary of totals by week and by vehicle.

Working hours report shows the start of the first journey and end of last journey for a fleet to help track and calculate the actual hours worked by a driver or vehicles. It includes the date and total hours worked, the time that the vehicle was started and shut down for the day, the total hours/days worked within the parameters set and the average hours worked within the period examined. Distance travelled report shows the time and location of every start and stop a vehicle has made, and calculates the distance travelled and travelling time.

Start time and stop time location, driving time, distance travelled, the total distance travelled, driving time and hours worked for each day as well as a summary of the total distance, driving time, hours worked and daily averages within the parameters set. Exceptions reports will advise of any unscheduled or prohibited fleet activity such as extended stops or unscheduled stops, excessive idling or speeding, visits to barred locations, route deviations and a summary of exceptions made each day.

Journey reports shows a summary of the activity of each vehicle including distance travelled, time taken, idling time, the number of journeys and the cost. It shows for each vehicle the number of journeys made, the start and stop points (as street addresses) the times and distance with daily totals. Service information shows vehicle and/or trailer service information such as next service date, road tax due date, next MOT date and odometer reading.
