But what exactly is an RFID tag ? RFID tags come in a variety of forms but
in general they are small plastic devices, that transmit an identification signal using a small radio transmitter. This signal can be picked up by a
special reader, anywhere from a couple of inches to 100m away and recorded. If you
therefore attach a tag to an asset, such as trailer, a container, or a heart
monitoring machine, you can automatically record their location, without having
to physically check.
